Food Service Worker - Floater - District - School Year 2026-2027
 

The workday consists of 5 hours, with specific daily hours determined by the building assignment.

 

 

Position Title: Food Service Worker

Position Summary: 

 

To assist in the preparation and serving of quality food to students in a quick and pleasant manner. 

 

Qualifications:

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous experience with large-scale cooking and food preparation/serving.  Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check eligibility required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities outlined below are representative and do not encompass or define all tasks that may be required by this position.

 

  1. Assists with quantity food preparation;
  2. Assists with the cleaning of the kitchen and cafeteria area;
  3. Assists with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met; 
  4. Sets up and breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, ala carte etc.);
  5. Operates cash register, dishwasher, meat slicer and other food service equipment; and
  6. Collects money, makes change, completes related reports.
